Ok, so now our lives are interesting :)

10 wk Penny waiting to playWe’ve been really bad at the blogging thing, but now that Orson is in China this month we have stuff other than injuries to talk about (well, HE does anyway!) I’ll let him describe the mysterious sights and smells of the orient, but I’ll introduce the first addition to our family, Penny the English Mastiff.

We’ve had her for three weeks now, and she’s growing faster than a fat kid locked in a room full of lard! She was 8 lbs at 6 weeks, 16.5 lbs at 8 weeks, and is now 22.5 lbs at 10 weeks.10 wk Penny with Scout the Beagle Not as big as the perro de presa canario pups we looked at, but sprouting up rapidly enough to confuse the heck out of her every time she face plants into a table or bar she had cleared the day before. When we first took her home, she moved very slowly and sommersaulted over herself whenever she did try to run or pounce. But now she’s even competition for the neighbor’s hyperactive Beagle, Scout.

She’s got “sit” down, but still working on other tricks like trapeze artistry, etc. She’s been such a sweet dog to have around, especially with my husband in a time zone 14 hours ahead of us!

Sledding Mishaps

As many of you know, I broke my hand sledding over the holidays and had surgery on it last week. As Mike put it, now I’m Wolverine with a few extra metal rods in my hand to keep the metacarpal under my pinkie in place. What many of you didn’t get to see was the video of my husband–I only wish my crash could have been more interesting!

A day to remember

Orson and Lisa are married!November 16th, 2007 was a beautiful day to remember as we were married in the Salt Lake temple. The ceremony, photography, food, etc. all turned out well as we were surrounded by so many family members and friends.
